Jonathan founded The Federated Companies in 1999 with the intent of creating a vertically integrated organization capable of developing and constructing institutional quality assets while maintaining the agility and cost controls of a smaller organization. Jonathan previously worked as an Engineer at Verizon Communications, where he was responsible for the design and construction of the company's outside plant and central office networks. He has since been involved in the acquisition, management, development, and construction of retail, office, and multifamily assets spanning from Maine to Florida, and possesses a thorough understanding of the development and construction process. Jonathan was a longtime Member of the Haverhill, Massachusetts CBD Parking Commission and the Washington Street Historic District Commission. Both groups were responsible for overseeing what is widely recognized as one of the finest examples of Queen Anne industrial architecture in America. Jonathan is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the National Multi Housing Council.

Brian has extensive experience in corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions, having advised clients on over eight billion dollars in completed transactions. Brian received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. from Boston College. He previously worked in strategic initiatives at General Electric, in investment banking at Lehman Brothers, and as a Management Consultant for Horvath and Partners, a boutique European consulting firm servicing Fortune 500 clients. He founded Iron Capital Group, a privately held real estate investment and advisory firm specializing in distressed assets and restructuring services, and brings to The Federated Companies a wealth of experience in finance, operations, and strategic planning.

Nick brings to The Federated Companies a comprehensive development and finance background. He graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University, where he obtained a degree in economics. Nick went on to work as a financial analyst for Enron Corporation and he came to The Federated Companies from Ocean Atlantic Associates, where Nick was a Partner and Executive Vice-President. During his tenure at Ocean Atlantic, the company successfully completed residential and commercial projects both in Eastern Europe and domestically, with a focus on coastal Delaware where the Company was a leader in the second-home market. He has successfully developed over five hundred million dollars in for-sale product including a diverse range of housing consisting of condominiums and single-family homes in both urban and suburban markets and is active in the community, serving on the fundraising board of the Lewes Canal Front Park.

Gerard’s extensive capital markets experience spans property acquisition and disposition, and debt and equity placement. He received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. Gerard previously acquired Advanced Building Maintenance, a facilities service company, and while at Realcap Corporation, he sourced and analyzed deals on behalf of private equity investors. Gerard advised on over six billion dollars in commercial real estate transactions during his eight year tenure as First Vice President of Investment Properties in CBRE’s multi-housing group and has been an active multifamily investor since 2002.
