Retail Program

In 2006, The Federated Companies diversified its real estate development program by entering a second asset class. The Company’s foray into retail development, construction, and management was necessary as the condominium boom had drastically altered the multifamily landscape and the company exited the apartment business in pursuit of a more predictable development environment. The Company developed a number of projects to suit the needs of national and regional retailers and restaurants.

While most apartment developers struggle to successfully integrate a retail component into a mixeduse project, The Federated Companies is able to properly assess the feasibility of a retail use, design a marketable product, construct the space in accordance with tenant specifications, and capitalize on its existing relationships to ensure the projects overall success.
